Yaroslav Gorbachov holds a PhD in Linguistics from Harvard and a BA in Russian Language and Literature from Novosibirsk State University. His research interests center on historical Slavic, Baltic, and Indo-European linguistics (in particular, verb morphology), as well as Balto-Slavic accentology. He has taught classes in historical Slavic and Germanic linguistics at Novosibirsk State University, Harvard, and the University of Chicago, including History of East Slavic, Comparative Slavic Phonology, Comparative Slavic Morphology, English Etymology, Introduction to Historical Linguistics, Comparative Grammar of Indo-European, Gothic, and Evolution of Writing.
