The Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures at the University of Chicago provides a comprehensive education in the languages and cultures of Central and Eastern Europe at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Well-integrated with other units of this world-class university, our department provides a thorough preparation in its core disciplines while encouraging exploration in other fields. Our particular strengths include modern Russian literature and cinema, Balkan Studies, Slavic linguistics and West Slavic cultures (Czech and Polish). Spring 2020 Pass/Fail

Dear Students,

For Spring Quarter 2020, any course taken toward the major or minor in Russian and East European Studies may be taken Pass/Fail. Students may elect this option up to Friday, June 5.
